6.1 E <br /> Page 10 <br /> EXHIBIT "A" <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> I. What RCLF will provide: <br /> A. Literacy services: Provide storytelling and other services to encourage <br /> literacy for youth and families in the Redwood City community. Use of <br /> compensation under this Agreement, consisting of funding in an amount <br /> not to exceed $40,000 annually for five years, shall be utilized to provide <br /> literacy services, including but not limited to: <br /> 1. Storytelling programs monthly for youth and families at all libraries. <br /> 2. Outreach to Redwood City schools and community events, <br /> including assemblies at Redwood City schools, supporting the youth <br /> services staff in visits to classes, and performing at or attending <br /> community events. <br /> 3. Recruitment and training of community volunteers to further the <br /> objectives of the library, including recruiting volunteers for Traveling <br /> Storytime, volunteers to read to children and recruiting volunteers to <br /> help at community events. <br /> B. Annual report: RCLF will provide an annual report describing how <br /> Redwood City libraries and residents were served by these programs. <br /> RCLF will work with the Library Director and/or designee on a regular <br /> basis to discuss the quality and/or level of services provided. <br /> II. What the City of Redwood City will provide: <br /> A. Funding in the total amount of $225,000 to support youth literacy services <br /> for Fiscal Years 2010-15. , <br /> B. Support for youth literacy services from library staff, demonstrated through <br /> publicity within the Redwood City community. <br /> C. Use of library-controlled public meeting space at no cost to RCLF, as <br /> needed and as available, for training sessions and programs.
