A. Recognition of Pina Truscelli - Jeff Ira, Mayor. <br /> Mayor Ira presented a certificate to Pina Truscelli in absentia. Vince Truscelli, her <br /> husband was present and also received flowers and a token of appreciation for her <br /> exemplary years of service in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br /> Commission. All Council Members expressed their thanks to Mrs. Truscelli for her <br /> dedication to this community. Each Council Member reminisced on a particular memory <br /> when they worked with Pina. Chris Beth, Parks Recreation and Community Services <br /> Director, explained that the Truscelli's have given an incredible amount of time in <br /> serving the community and in particular to the Senior Center. <br /> B. Swearing in Ceremony - Five appointed and reappointed Parks, Recreation, <br /> Community Services Commissioners will be sworn in <br /> by City Clerk Silvia Vonderlinden. <br /> City Clerk Vonderlinden swore in five members of the Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission. <br /> 6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Angelica Nava and Valeria Lorenzo said they are recent graduates of Sequoia High <br /> School. On behalf of the Immigrant Youth Action Team and Redwood City 2020 <br /> Community Youth Development Initiative, they extended an invitation, in English and in <br /> Spanish, to the "Making Dreams Come True" Event on October 29, 2010 at Sequoia <br /> High School to help youth pursue further education. <br /> Janet Lawson spoke in favor of the installation of stop signs at the intersection of Palm <br /> Avenue and Oxford Street. She thanked staff and neighbors who signed a petition in <br /> favor of the stop signs. <br /> M/S Gee/Pierce to approve the Consent Calendar. <br /> Council Member Pierce spoke about the stop sign on Palm at Oxford Street. Vice Mayor <br /> Aguirre thanked staff for the state of emergency due to the ruptured sewer main and she <br /> wanted to make this fact publicly known. Council Member Gee thanked the staff and the <br /> other cities that offered support. He noted that Mr. Smith's Code Red messages were <br /> instrumental and very helpful. Motion carries unanimously by electronic vote. <br /> 6.1 Section — Motions <br /> A. 2009-2010 Utility Trench Repair Project. (304) Minute Order 10-186 <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. Accept by motion the partially completed improvements constructed during <br /> the 2009-2010 Utility Trench Repair Project, from Guerra Construction <br /> Group, Inc., San Jose, CA and release the retention in the amount of <br /> $7,380.33 withheld during construction in accordance with City procedure. <br /> 2.
