MURIEL DE NAN <br /> ON T 'E OCCASION OF HER RETIRET ENT AS CITY <br /> LIBRARIAN FOR lE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> WMEREAS, on July 31, 1960, P!rs. Nuriel '.erman will retire from <br /> her position of City Librarian of the City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, Nrs. Merman has been active in the library field for <br /> forty years, of which twenty years have been devoted to the Redwood <br /> City Public Library; and <br /> TE EREAS, since I'rs. Merman's appointment as City Librarian in <br /> 1954 her remarkable administrative abilities have been demonstrated <br /> through the modernization and increased efficiency of the library <br /> system; and <br /> JI REAS, Nrs. Merman's warm personality and willingness to <br /> participate in all civic functions has won her an outstanding place <br /> in this community; <br /> NOW, TFEREFORE: <br /> DE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. That this Council, on behalf of the people of the City of <br /> Redwood City, take the occasion of the retirement of hrs. Muriel <br /> Merman on July 31, 1960, to commend Frs. T for her years of <br /> devoted service to the Redwood City Library System and to the many <br /> thousands of people who have made use of the library facilities. <br />
