7- I D -I
-
REPORT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager
June 2, 2003
Subject
Final Acceptance — 2001 -2002 Civic Facilities Painting Project
Engineering File No. 803 -02
Recommendation
Accept the improvements for the 2001 -2002 Civic Facilities Painting Project, and
authorize the release of bonds.
Background
The 2001 -2002 Civic Facilities Painting Project is part of the annual Civic Facilities
Painting Program for maintaining the appearance of the City's Civic Facilities. The
facilities painted this year were the Police Facility (all exterior metal surfaces); Municipal
Services Center: (the interiors of the Building Maintenance Shop; Traffic Sign Shop,
Park & Recreation Shop, and the two Open Storage Shops), plus the exterior of the
four storage containers, and Main Library (the exterior joint sealants were replaced.)
The Hawes Park bleacher assemblies were scheduled to have been painted, but during
the work, field investigation indicated that it would be best to restore or replace the
assemblies.
The newly painted appearance has truly been appreciated by the patrons, and
aesthetically brightened up these facilities.
Stan's Painting of Citrus Heights, California, completed all the work in accordance with
the Plans & Specifications. The original contract amount was $84,000, but with the
deductive change order of 25,308.00, the final cost of the project was $58,692.00.
Fiscal Impacts
Funds in the amount of $136,000 were allocated in the 2001 -2002 Capital Improvement
Program Budget for this project. The balance of the funds will be returned to the Civic
Facilities Painting Program.
A
Brian Lee Pruce Lieiistrand Ed Everett
Senior Civil Engineer Community Development Services Director City Manager
JP /BL ss
oibrary/reports/bnan/Acceptanance_Civic Facilities Painting
