F 1 <br /> • <br /> WHEREAS, this Council initiated proceedings to annex the same <br /> described territory by Resolution No. 2996, adopted May 2, 1960, <br /> and therein designated said annexation as " Edgewood Annexation <br /> No. 1 -A "; and <br /> WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 3017, adopted April 11, 1960, and <br /> pursuant to the provisions of Section 35007 of the Government Code, <br /> this Council terminated all annexation proceedings being taken in <br /> connection with Edgewood Annexation No. 1 -A; and <br /> WHEREAS, in connection with Edgewood Annexation No. 1 -A, and <br /> pursuant to Section 35007 of the Government Code, a public hearing <br /> was held on April 18, 1960, for the purpose of hearing protests; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 3050, adopted April 18, 1960, this <br /> Council found that protest to the proposed annexation designated <br /> Edgewood Annexation No. 1.4 had not been made by the owners of <br /> one -half of the value of private property within such territory <br /> nor by the owners of one -half of the publicly owned property with- <br /> in such territory; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> 1. Said Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby <br /> declare, and does hereby give notice that, pursuant to the <br /> provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of <br /> 1939, proceedings have been initiated by it, on its own motion <br /> without requiring a petition, to annex to said City all that <br /> territory hereinafter designated and described. <br /> 2. Said Council does hereby declare that its reasons for <br /> desiring said annexation are as follows: To contribute to and <br /> facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City <br /> and the territory proposed to be annexed; to encourage, assist, <br /> and facilitate proper design, layout, construction and control of <br /> -2- <br />
