. . COM -R -2 NOW, THEREFORE: 1. Said Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby declare, and does hereby give notice that, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of • 1939, proceedings have been initiated by it, on its own motion without requiring a petition, to annex to said City all that territory hereinafter designated and described. 2. Said Council does hereby declare that its reasons for desiring said annexation are as follows: To contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed; to encourage, assist, and facilitate proper design, layout, construction and control of streets, sewers, and other public improvements, in both City and said territory; to provide for proper control of land use in both areas in conformity with over -all zoning plans of the City; and to provide other municipal services to said territory for the mutual benefit of the City and said territory. 3. April 18 , 1960 , at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Board of Supervisor's Chambers, Hall of Justice and Records, Redwood City, San Mateo County, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory hereinafter described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Redwood City, may appear before said Council and show cause why such territory should not be annexed to said City. 4. The City Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published in the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Redwood City, and in the San Mateo Times, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Redwood City but within the County of San Mateo, California, in - 2 -
