REG:ye:11 /23/59 -7 R E S O L U T I O N N O. 2917 RESOLUTION ABANDONING PARK STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, on April 20, 1959, the Council of the City of Redwood City authorized the commencement of proceedings for public improve- ments by special assessment district proceedings in the vicinity of Park Street; and WHEREAS, in connection therewith, the Council of the City of Redwood City authorized the employment of special counsel to represent the proposed district to be formed to complete the public improvements to be known as "Park Street Improvements "; and WHEREAS, such special counsel has been employed pursuant to a contract executed by the City of Redwood City and Lee C. Jordan, Jr. on May 28, 1959; and WHEREAS, the proposed assessment district has not been formed nor have any substantial preliminary steps been taken in respect to its formation; and WHEREAS, in view of the imminent winter season and upon consideration of all pertinent factors, it is found that it would not be in the best interests of the people of the City of Redwood City to proceed with the Park Street Improvement project at this time; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The proposed public improvement project, known as "Park Street Improvements," is hereby abandoned and no further proceedings shall be taken in connection therewith under the Resolution adopted April 20, 1959. 2. The contract of employment between the City of Redwood City and Lee C. Jordan, Jr. is hereby terminated and, in accordance with the provisions of the contract, no fee shall be paid thereunder.
