REG:yc :12/1L/59 -7 R E S O L U T I 0 N N 0. 2934. RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRING OF CITY PERSONNEL IN THE CLASSIFICATION OF DRAFTSMAN II AT THE SECOND OR THIRD SALARY STEP WHEREAS, there presently exists several vacancies in the City employees classification position of Draftsman II; and WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 82L. of the City of Redwood City provide for the hiring of personnel at the first, or minimum, salary step and permit the hiring of personnel at the second or third salary steps upon approval of the Personnel Board and the City Council if it is difficult to locate qualified personnel at the first salary step; and WHEREAS, after exercising due diligence and attempting to fill the classification position of Draftsman II at the first salary step, the City has been unable to do so; and WHEREAS the Personnel Board has approved the hiring of such � pp lr o g personnel at the second or third salary step and has presented its recommendations to that effect to this Council; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City hereby finds that a situation exists where it is difficult to locate qualified personnel within the meaning of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 824 of the City of Redwood City; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: The hiring of personnel at the second or third salary step to fill the classification of Draftsman II is hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to take such appropriate steps as may be necessary to hire such personnel. .. ..
