6-/ -G1
REPORT
June 9, 2003
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager
Subject
Board of Equalization meeting date to set tax rates for General Improvement District No. 1-
64
Recommendation
Motion to set July 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. as the meeting date for the City Council to sit as
the Board of Equalization to set the tax rates for General Improvement District No. 1-64.
Background
The City Charter Section 54 states that, "the Council shall meet at its usual meeting place
on the third Monday in July of each year, at ten o'clock A.M., and sit as a Board of
Equalization, and shall continue in session by adjournment from day today until all returns
of the assessor have been rectified and assessments equalized ". Due to an anticipated
lack of quorum at 10:00 a.m., each year a Notice of Adjournment is posted and the Board
meets at 7:00 p.m. during the regular meeting hours of the City Council. Approving the date
of July 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. will allow the Board to conduct its business at a regular
Council meeting date and proper noticing to occur.
Patricia Howe
City Clerk
Stan Yamampfo
City Attom
04
Ed Everett
City Manager
