Bell for the <br /> Position of Interim City Manager. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an employment agreement for Robert <br /> B. Bell for the position of Interim City Manager. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Recently, City Manager Peter C. Ingram resigned his employment. The City Council met in <br /> closed session on November 10, 2010 to discuss appointment of an Interim City Manager, I <br /> and subsequently announced that it had selected Robert B. Bell. A Council Personnel <br /> Sub-committee met with Mr. Bell and negotiated the terms of his interim appointment. <br /> The principal features of the Employment Agreement are: <br /> Mr. Bell is confirmed as the Interim City Manager effective November 15, 2014. As Interim <br /> City Manager, Mr. Bell shall serve in all capacities required of the City Manager, including <br /> as the Executive Director of the Redevelopment Agency. Mr. Bell will be paid $16,181.58 a <br /> month, and will maintain the standard benefits currently available to him as Human <br /> Resources Director. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> 1. Do not approve the attached Employment Agreement for Mr. Bell and ask the <br /> subcommittee to renegotiate the terms and conditions of the agreement. <br /> 2.
