APPROACH �` �� EXHIBIT A - SCOPE OF W�RK B kF � Seanort Centre Maintenance District—Rip Rap Replacement j PROJECT UNDERSTANDING ! � �ur understanding of the services requested by the City of Redwood City is based on the � � Request For Proposal(RFP)dated August 30,2010. BKF Engineers will provide the � services to evaluate alternatives and provide construction documents for approxiinately 20- foot by lU0-foatrip-rap replacement at Seaport Centre. The construction documents will also address repair of the void under ihe existing walkway. We assume a flowable f ll will ; be used to fill the void and suppart the walkway. Should replacement or more extensive ' evaluation aud xepair be required,this may be considered.beyond the scope of this � proposal. As a subconsultant to BKF,geotechnical services wiIl be provided bq ENGEO. ENGEO � wilt assist with evaluating aIternatives to the rip rap replacement so that the City may i provide direction for design. i � SCOPE OF SERVICE ' Task 1.Data Collection and Alternative Evaluations I ; ' Task 1a. Attend Coardination Meetings and Prof ect Management BKF will attend meetings(assumed a maximum of two),and coordinate with the geotechnical and environmental consultants to ensure timely progress is made. This aiso ' inclndes coordinating survey crews and one site visit with the City and other consultants. Task lb. EnvironmentaI Permitting Support BKF will provide necessary project descriptions or exhibits for environrnental studies as needed. No additional meetings are included in this subtask. Task lc. Topographfc Survey and Temporary Benchmarks BK�' wili prepare a topographic survey for the project area. Based on #he datum and coordinate system used for filze Seaport Centre Maintenance District Condition Report survey,we will field suzvey conforms and existing surfaee improvements. The survey will be sufficient ta provide a background far construction documents. This background will aid in establishing the limits of jurisdictional areas and proposed improveraents. By establishing these limits, we will be able to bet#er document the proposed work for environmental pernait pxocessing and provide a more accurate engineer's opinion of probable consixuction cost. While the survey crews are on-site,we�vill set temporary benchmarks(TB11�so when the contraotor is mobilized, minimat or no construction staking will be required.
