411 • <br /> RJC : ek :12/14/59 -7 <br /> RE SOLUTI ON N 2944 -A <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FOR <br /> CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES, SEQUOIA RESERVOIR <br /> PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, abnormal structural cracking and excessive deflection <br /> has been observed in the roofs and supporting structures of the two <br /> pre- stressed concrete reservoirs known as Sequoia reservoirs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the services of an <br /> experienced and qualified consulting structural engineering firm <br /> be obtained for the purpose of determining the present extent of <br /> such abnormal conditions and the probable causes thereof; and, <br /> WHEREAS, John J. Gould and H. J. Degenkolb, doing business <br /> as "John J. Gould and H. J. Degenkolb, Consulting Engineers," <br /> are qualified to perform such services and have offered to complete <br /> the same for a fee not to exceed the sum of two thousand dollars <br /> ($2,000.00); <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> That certain draft agreement entitled "Agreement for Consulting <br /> Engineering Services, Sequoia Reservoir Project," providing for the <br /> performance of consulting engineering services by the abovementioned <br /> structural engineering firm of John J. Gould and H. J. Degenkolb, <br /> Consulting Engineers, in connection with investigation of design, <br /> construction, and inspection of the Sequoia reservoirs, at a <br /> maximum cost not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), is <br /> hereby approved, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to <br /> execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Redwood <br /> City. <br /> * * * <br />
