EXHIBIT "A" <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> Funding Source: Silicon Valley Community Foundation and Stewardship Council /Redwood City <br /> 2020 <br /> Scope of Work to be completed by term of contract <br /> Strengthen collaboration among environmental and youth serving organizations, and schools, <br /> to deliver environmentally focused after school programs at middle and high schools in <br /> Redwood City. <br /> • Through the Redwood City 2020 Garden Education Network, assess and identify the best <br /> opportunities to strengthen the role of the school gardens. Respond to school garden <br /> requests for technical assistance and support, so as to develop garden based educational <br /> strategies that are both closely integrated with the schools and engaging to middle and high <br /> school age youth <br /> • Develop the capacity at Hidden Villa to train and integrate Hidden Villa's residential interns to <br /> be able to teach within the existing school based programs within the Redwood City <br /> community <br /> • Build relationships with environmental and youth serving organizations and identify mutually <br /> beneficial opportunities for collaboration <br /> • Participate in quarterly meetings of the Redwood City Community Youth Development <br /> Initiative as an opportunity to develop collaborative relationships with youth serving <br /> organizations and schools <br /> Development and delivery of replicable after school classes at Sequoia High school that <br /> prepare youth for summer jobs and internships with an environmental and /or green focus. <br /> • Provide at least 1 garden based apprenticeship serving at least 30 students at Kennedy <br /> Middle School. <br /> • Implement HYPE (the youth- action - research and outdoor exploration program) serving 15 -20 <br /> students (1 day). Together with participating youth develop a proposal for Linden Park. <br /> Administration <br /> Invoice for services rendered on a project basis. <br /> Document program outcomes and identify opportunities for program replication in future years with an <br /> emphasis on getting an increasing number of youth engaged in the outdoor environment. <br /> Provide Redwood City staff with a written program report by November 15, 2011. <br /> City Attorney Approved Version #05.22.01 <br /> 4 <br />
