SECTION 9.43 ADDED TO THE BUILDING CODE: Section 9.43 is <br /> hereby added to the Building Code to read as follows: <br /> Section 9.43. Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map: <br /> The City Council hereby adopts and designates Very High Fire Hazard Severity <br /> Zones as recommended by the Director of the California Department of Forestry and <br /> Fire Protection and as designated on a map titled, `Redwaod City — Fire Hazard Map,' <br /> dated February 3, 2009, and retained on file and made available at the offices of the <br /> Fire Chief and Building Official of the City of Redwood City. The 'Redwood City — Fire <br /> Hazard Map' is also adopted in Section 12.7.1 of Article II of Chapter 12 of the <br /> Redwood City Municipal Code." <br /> Sec. 9.44. SECTION 903.2 OF THE BUILDING CODE AMENDED: Section <br /> 903.2 of the Building Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 903.2 Where required. Approved automatic sprinkler systems shall be <br /> required in new buildings and structures and in existing buildings and structures which <br /> add 1,000 square feet or more floor area. Refer to Article II of Chapter 12 of the <br /> Redwood City Municipal Code for specific requirements. The sprinkler systems shall <br /> also be provided in the locations described in Sections 903.2.1 through 903.2.12 of the <br /> Building Code, whichever is more restrictive. <br /> Sec. 9.45.
