Infrastructure, Transportation Phone (650) 780 -7380 Fax (650) 780 -7309 <br /> !kyle Website: www.redwoodcity.org <br /> Public Hearing Notice <br /> Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Redwood City (City) will hold a public hearing at the <br /> stated time and place to consider the following matter: <br /> Project: Vacation of Public Right -of -Way, including Public Services Easement - <br /> Chemical Way <br /> Date and Time: December 21, 2010, 7:00 PM <br /> Place: City Hall Council Chambers, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City intends to vacate a City right -of -way known as Chemical Way located in <br /> the Woodhouse Industrial Park Area, including the public services easement thereunder, subject to satisfaction <br /> of certain conditions prior to the vacation taking effect. Attached is a map showing the area intended to be <br /> vacated. City's purpose of conditionally vacating the right -of -way is to facilitate the County of San Mateo's <br /> efforts to acquire and develop the properties at 20, 50, 70 and 80 Chemical Way with replacement jail facilities <br /> or other public uses. This vacation proceeding is conducted under Chapter 3, Section 8320 et seq. of the <br /> California Streets and Highways Code. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: Vacation of the Chemical Way right -of -way and public services easement is part <br /> of a larger proposed replacement jail project, the potential environmental impacts of which are being reviewed <br /> by the County of San Mateo in accordance with the Califomia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). County's <br /> completion of such environmental review is one of the conditions required to be satisfied prior to the right -of -way <br /> vacation taking effect. <br /> BACKGROUND AND OTHER INFORMATION: <br /> A resolution of intent to vacate the Chemical Way right -of -way, including public services easement, containing <br /> the conditions required to be satisfied prior to such vacation taking effect, is on file for public inspection and <br /> copying for the cost of duplication at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood <br /> City, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, exclusive of holidays. <br /> All testimony must either be given in person at the time of the public hearing or received in writing by the City <br /> Engineer prior to the date of the public hearing. Testimony cannot be given over the telephone. If you <br /> challenge any of the foregoing described actions in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you <br /> or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to <br /> the City Council at, or prior to, said public hearing.
