Attached is a map showing the area intended to be vacated. City's purpose of conditionally vacating the right -of -way is to facilitate the County of San Mateo's efforts to acquire and develop the properties at 20, 50, 70 and 80 Chemlbal Way with replacement Jail facilities or other public uses. This vacation proceeding Is conducted under Chapter 3, Section 8320 et sea, of the California Streets and Highways Code. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: Vacation of the Chemical Way right -of -way and public services easement Is part of a larger proposed repiacernent jail project, the potential environmental Impacts of which are being reviewed by the County of San Mateo in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). County's completion of such environmental revieW is one of the conditions. required to be satisfied prior to the right - -way vacation taking effect. BACKGROUND AND OTHER INFORMATION: A resolution of Intent to vacate the Chemical Way right -of -way, including public services easement, containing the conditions required to be satisfied prior to such vacation taking effect, Is on file for public inspection and copying for the cost of duplication at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, between the hours of 8:00 ant and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, exclusive of holidays. All testimony must either be given In person at the time of the public hearing or received In writing by the City Engineer prior to the date of the public hearing. Testimony cannot be given over the telephone. If you challenge any of the foregoing described actions in court, you maybe limited to raising only those Issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described In this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or prior to, said public hearing.
