6.1A <br /> Page 1 <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> December 21, 2010 <br /> Subject <br /> Professional Services Agreement between the City of Redwood City and Management <br /> Partners, Inc. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement between the City of <br /> Redwood City, and Management Partners, Inc., (Partners). <br /> Background <br /> The City of Redwood City seeks to enter into an agreement with Management Partners, <br /> Inc., to assist in assessing and evaluating the City's organizational structure and <br /> operations. Management Partners will analyze various aspects of the City organization, <br /> and submit recommendations to the City Manager as to how to achieve maximum <br /> efficiency and cost - effectiveness in the provision of services to the community. <br /> The agreement will not exceed $75,000.00 which is defined by purchasing units from <br /> the consultant. The units will provide us with the flexibility on how we utilize the <br /> consultant for a variety of different projects, one being the assessing and evaluating the <br /> City's organizational structure and operations. <br /> Alternative <br /> The Council may elect not to authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement. <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> Funding of $75,000.00 for this agreement was not appropriated in the Fiscal Year <br /> 2010/11; therefore the budget will require a mid -year adjustment to cover additional <br /> expenditures. Long term, efficiencies and processes and organizational redesign <br /> should yield savings for surpassing the $75,000.00 agreement. <br /> Robert B.
