6.1 B <br /> The State takeaway under AB26 4x of $4.3 million from the Agency has restricted the Ag�����fi�� <br /> investing in new projects and programs to eliminate blight. Nevertheless, the Agency has continued efforts <br /> in the downtown area to fill the four vendor spaces in Courthouse Square, conducted a retail vacancy <br /> analysis for the downtown, revised the existing Storefront Improvement Program to make it more useful to <br /> businesses and property owners to upgrade dilapidated buildings, and continued the program and <br /> activities in the Square, which attracted well over 100,000 visitors, SO% of whom made additional purchases <br /> in the downtown. <br /> Additionally, zoning in the downtown area was amended to help overcome the vacancy rate and allow <br /> ground floor office uses in certain areas. <br /> A feasibility study was completed for the Hoover School area to unprove mobility for the residents and <br /> provide better linkage to the downtown area and public facilities. A proposal to improve the Woodside <br /> Road/ Middlefield Road intersection is under consideration. <br /> The Agency continues to explore site acquisition opporiunities for affordable housing and is moving <br /> forward with site preparation for a future senior housing development in the downtown area.
