6.3A <br /> Attachmen��e 7 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE PENALTIES FOR <br /> PARKING VIOLATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY I <br /> WHEREAS, both the Califomia Vehicle Code and the Redwood City <br /> Municipal Code regulate the parking of vehicles on City streets and other areas; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code section 40203.5 authorizes the City <br /> Council to establish penalties for Vehicle Code parking violations and requires, to <br /> the extent possible, issuing agencies within a county to standardize penalties; � <br /> and � <br /> WHEREAS, California Senate Bill 857, effective December 7, 2010, <br /> amended Government Code Section 76000.3 to require the City to submit $3.00 <br /> per parking violation to the County Treasurer for deposit in the Trial Court Tn�st <br /> Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to restore those redirected funds and to bring City <br /> parking fines in parity with surrounding municipalities, the City Council desires to <br /> increase all parking fines governed by the California Vehicle Code and the <br /> Redwood City Municipal Code by a total of $5. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br /> incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> 2. Penalties for parking violations are hereby increased in accord with the <br /> parking fine schedule set forth and attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> 3.
