6. Project Purpose <br /> The primary purpose of this project is to provide a direct transit link between the Redwood City <br /> Caltrain Station and employment centers in the Mid Point Technology Business Park area for <br /> employees and future employees. The service is free of charge to riders and available to the <br /> general public. The intent is to schedule shuttles to provide timed transfers with trains arriving <br /> in the morning and departing in the evening. A secondary focus is to provide intermodal <br /> transfers to and from the Caltrain station for patrons traveling in the reverse commute <br /> direction. <br /> This transportation service provides connectivity to four participating Redwood City area <br /> employers representing approximately 4,500 potential users. Nearby residents can also utilize <br /> the service in the counter - commute direction. <br /> 7.
