As proposed, the shuttle operates in the
peak only, so service overlap is fairly contained. It should be noted that SamTrans continues to monitor
Route 270 passenger trips and ongoing coordination of these services are important to ensure provision of
shuttle service not negatively impact this route by eroding ridership, resulting in additional cost per
passenger mile for SamTrans. if future expansion or change is contemplated, it will be critical for the
project sponsor to coordinate with SamTrans to balance maximizing cost efficiencies and providing
appropriate levels of transit service.
Thank you for coordinating this request with SamTrans. For future planning and further coordination efforts,
please feel free to contact me at (650) 508 -6226 or espinosam @samtrans.com. Working together to
achieve a well integrated, multimodal transportation system is critical to providing people that live and work
in San Mateo County sustainable transportation options.
Sincere y,
arisa Espinosa
Manager, Planning and Research
SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT
1250 San Carlos Ave. — P.O.
