Material and work quality shall <br /> be subject to the City's approval. <br /> Salvaged /Non - Salvageable Equipment or Material: <br /> 1- Contractor shall either hold in its storage facility, or deliver to a location <br /> designated by the City, any salvageable equipment or material as per <br /> direction by the City. <br /> 2- Contractor shall properly dispose of any equipment or material <br /> declared non - salvageable as per direction by the City. <br /> 3- Contractor shall try to utilize any salvaged equipment in good working <br /> condition if possible. <br /> Warranty Service <br /> New traffic signals, street lights, and other electrical parts and materials are <br /> covered by the installing Contractor's material and workmanship warranty for one <br /> (1) year after acceptance. Where parts or material become defective during this <br /> warranty period, the Contractor shall notify the City so that the warranty may be <br /> exercised. The Contractor shall be responsible for exercising maintenance and <br /> replacement covered by the warranty. At expiration of the warranty, servicing of <br /> traffic signals, street lights, and other electrical devices shall be performed in <br /> accordance with these specifications. No additional, or separate, compensation <br /> shall be paid for warranty service work. <br /> Protection of Property / Public Safety <br /> Contractor will do the following: <br /> 1- Confine operations at site to areas permitted by contract documents. <br /> 2- Do not encumber site with excessive material or equipment. <br /> 3- Do not impose any load on any structure that will damage or endanger <br /> structure. <br /> 4- Take precautions necessary to prevent annoyance to occupants adjacent to <br /> or in the vicinity of the work. <br /> 5- Contractor is solely responsible for conditions of the jobsite, including safety <br /> of all persons and property during performance of work. This requirement will <br /> apply continuously and will not be limited to normal working hours. Safety <br /> and sanitary provisions shall conform to applicable Federal, State, County, <br /> and local laws, regulations, ordinances, standards, and codes. Where any of <br /> these are in conflict the more stringent requirement shall be followed. All <br /> public and private property, pavement or improvement shall be safely <br /> guarded from injury or loss in connection with this contract by the Contractor <br /> at all times.
