' C-17
Fireworks Area — SeaDort Blvd.
K. The PCA would like to conduct one -way traffic control and the use of one —side
(outbound) curb parking along Seaport Blvd and the Frontage Road from the
Seaport Court to Pacific Shores Center similar to last year. The additional
parking would allow more spectators and guest into the Port area to view the
fireworks display. The PCA will provide additional uniformed private security
personnel to facilitate the orderly flow of traffic and the parking of private
vehicles along Seaport Blvd and the frontage Road.
L. Access to the Port area was a problem for the PCA Staff, the fireworks vendor,
and the Sea Scouts. Our July 4 event is conducted by a number of community
volunteers. Most of our key event coordinators move to and from various
locations through the day. For example, the people who are responsible for
cleanup after the parade and festival activities are also needed at the fireworks
site. It is important that we establish a method of vehicle identification for
personnel needed for the fireworks display, so that these individuals can be
recognized by the Police Officers on duty and allow them vehicle access to the
Port area after Seaport Blvd is closed to the general public.
M. The PCA also requests uniformed officers to be available in the Port area
beginning at 6:30 PM.
We appreciate the cooperation shown between City Government and the Peninsula Celebration
Association as coordinators of these events that benefit the entire Redwood City Community.
As in previous years, it is our understanding that the above and other City Services be provided
at no cost or obligation to the Peninsula Celebration Association.
If you have any questions please contact our office at 365 -1825.
Respectfully,
Robert Slusser
Vice President and Community Liaison Coordinator
Peninsula Celebration Association
