OA4 <br />"2.84.1 Research and Development, Office Type. <br />A research and development use for which the research and development <br />components primarily occur in an office setting, with minimal laboratory area or <br />research equipment, other than computers and other related electronic <br />equipment. Typical office type research ald development uses may include, but <br />are not limited to, computer software and computer simulation firms." <br />"2.84.2 Research and Development, Laboratory Type. <br />A research and development use for which the research and development <br />components require substantial laboratory space and/or other equipment for <br />testing or development, which may also include associated adjacent or nearby <br />workstations for recording or preparing written documentation of research. <br />Typical laboratory type research and development uses may include, but are not <br />limited to, biotechnical firms and pharmaceutical research laboratories." <br />Section 3. That Article 11 (Professional Office District), Section 11.2 (Permitted Uses) <br />of the Redwood City Zoning Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br />"The following uses are permitted in the Professional Office District if conducted entirely <br />within a building: <br />A. Professional offices. <br />B. Medical offices or medical clinics with a gross floor area of less than two <br />thousand five hundred (2,500) square feet. <br />C. Family day care homes within residential structures." <br />Section 4. That Article 11 (Professional Office District), Section 11.4 (Conditional <br />Uses), subsection B, of the Redwood City Zoning Code is hereby amended in its <br />entirety to read as follows: <br />"B. Medical offices or medical clinics with a gross floor area of two thousand <br />five hundred (2,500) square feet or more." <br />Section 5. That Article 12 (Central Administrative District), Section 12.2 (Permitted <br />Uses), subsections B and D, of the Redwood City Zoning Code are hereby amended in <br />their entirety to read as follows: <br />"B. Medical offices, or medical clinics." <br />"D. Office type research and development." <br />Section 6.
