<br /> MEASUREMENT & PAYMENT
<br /> 1.0 GENERAL
<br /> A. The total Bid price shall cover all work necessary for the proper and successful completion of the
<br /> Contract. All work not specifically set forth as a pay item in the Bidder's Bid, but necessary to meet the
<br /> requirements of this Contract, shall be considered a subsidiary obligation of the Contractor, and all costs
<br /> in connection therewith shall be included in the prices Bid.
<br /> B. All estimated quantities stipulated in the Bid form are to be used only as a basis for estimating the
<br /> probable cost of the work and /or for the purpose of comparing the Bids submitted for the work. The
<br /> actual amounts of work completed under unit price items may differ from estimated quantities. The basis
<br /> of payment for unit price work will be the actual amount of work completed. Contractor agrees to make
<br /> no claim for damages anticipated profits or otherwise on account of any difference in the amounts of
<br /> work actually performed, and estimated amounts therefore.
<br /> 1.01 MOBILIZATION, TRAFFIC CONTROL AND OTHER INCIDENTALS (BID ITEM NO. 1)
<br /> A. Full compensation for all mobilization consisting of preparatory work and operations, including, but not
<br /> limited to, those necessary for the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the
<br /> project site, traffic control measures including supplying, maintaining all traffic signs, portable
<br /> barricades and delineators required, any required flagging costs, as necessary to implement traffic
<br /> control measures will be considered as included in the lump sum price paid for MOBILIZATION,
<br /> TRAFFIC CONTROL AND OTHER INCIDENTALS and no separate payment will be made therefore.
<br /> Attention is directed to Sections 7 -1.08, "Public Convenience," 7 -1.09, "Public Safety," 12 -3.04,
<br /> "Portable Delineators," and 12 -2.02 "Flagging Costs," of the Standard Specifications and Section 1.05,
<br /> "General Traffic Control, Safety & Access" of these Special Conditions. The Contractor shall cooperate
<br /> with local authorities relative to handling traffic through the area, and shall make his own arrangements
<br /> relative to keeping the work area clear of parked vehicles.
<br /> B. Full compensation for restoring existing landscape and damaged structures, and other incidentals
<br /> related to the completion of this Project shall be included as a lump sum price paid for MOBILIZATION,

<br /> TRAFFIC CONTROL AND OTHER INCIDENTALS. This work shall include, but is not limited to:
<br /> verification and location of existing utilities in a horizontal and vertical plan, restoration of irrigation,
<br /> concrete walkways, landscaping, and structures. Restoration & replacement of existing lawn or other
<br /> improvements removed or damaged due to utility trenching and excavation work and due to installation
<br /> of improvements shall be to restored or replaced in kind to the satisfaction of the City.
<br /> 1.02 EVP SYSTEM (BID ITEMS NOS. 2 -6)
<br /> A. The contract lump sum price paid for "EVP System" shall include full compensation for furnishing all
<br /> labor, tools, miscellaneous materials, miscellaneous equipment, and incidentals for performing all the
<br /> work involved in installing city- furnished, emergency vehicle system, complete in place. Work includes,
<br /> but is not limited to: acquire equipment from Redwood City Public Works Services Department and
<br /> transport equipment to job site; install EVP system components including radio /GPS units, phase
<br /> selectors, card racks, cables, and any miscellaneous items necessary to provide a complete,
<br /> functioning system, and in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and recommendations;
<br /> installing cable and wiring; electrical connections.
<br /> B. Full compensation for all additional materials and labor, not shown on the plans or specified, which are
<br /> necessary to complete the installation of the various systems, shall be considered as included in the
<br /> prices paid for the systems, or units thereof, and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore.
<br /> C. Individual components or elements of the system will not be measured for payment, but shall be
<br /> included in the lump sum price paid.
