Dr. Bell explained <br /> that what was asked about was a cut of $2 million over the course of three years. Vice <br /> Mayor Aquirre said that the numbers mentioned tonight have nothing to do with reali#y and <br /> she wants to clarify that tfie Counc�will not balance the budget on their backs. <br /> Jose Farias said he is a resident, voter, and empfoyee of Redwood City and he <br /> understands the conc�ssions because his work hours have been r�uc�d from full to part- <br /> time. He said he has to work muitiple jobs to make ends meet. He spake about losing his <br /> home, when other employees are being hired. He opined that the concessions are being <br /> asked of those who are least able to afford them and he asksd Council to do the right <br /> thing. <br /> Xavier "X" Mercado said he has worked with the City for twenty years and that he is <br /> thankful and has gone through good and bad times. He spoke about past concessions <br /> and the desire to do what is best for the city and opined fhat c'�ty management should lead <br /> by example and change should occur from top down. <br /> Dr. Bell explained that the Gity Executive Team provided concessions which met that <br /> groups' target number. <br /> Mayor Ira said that the City Manager will work with them and thanked everyone. <br /> M/S Bain/Seybert to approve the Consent Calendar. <br /> Council Member Pierce explained details about item 6.9 B.
