M/S Jordan /Pierce to extend the meeting until 12:30 a.m. The motion passed <br />by a majority voice vote with Council Member Hartnett voting no. <br />Recommendation: <br />No decisions will be made by the City Council at this meeting: <br />1. Conduct a study session on the Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) <br />Addendum document released on May 12, 2003 <br />2. Close the 28 -day public comment period (May 13 through June 9, 2003) <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 21 -2003. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department.) <br />City Manager Everett — stated that a recent e-mail with Legislators addresses was <br />sent and he encouraged Council to communicate that the recent proposal to lay <br />more of the budget responsibility over multiple years on to cities is unacceptable <br />and would be devastating to our levels of service. He asked that Council <br />communicate immediately on this issue. <br />9. ADJOURNMENT— 12:25 a.m. <br />M/S Ira /Pierce to adjourn until the next City Council meeting of June 23, 2003.
