CHAPTER 12 <br />erections <br />1214 (c) Re- registration. De- registered bonds are subject <br />(Contd.) to rc- registration in the same manner as previously <br />unregistered bonds. <br />1215 Mutilated or Defaced Bonds or Coupons. In the event the <br />bond or coupon shall have been mutilated or defaced, the pro- <br />visions of Article 2 (commencing at Section 59430), Chapter 3, <br />Part 1, Division 2, Title 5 of the Government Code shall apply. <br />1216 Lost or Destroyed Bonds. The council may issue a new <br />bond similar or interest coupon similar to the original as <br />provided in this section. <br />(a) When Issued. Such bond or coupon will be issued if: <br />1. By competent proof it is made to appear to <br />the council that a bond issued by the city is <br />lost or destroyed. <br />2. The owner gives security approved by the council <br />to indemnify the local agency against any loss <br />incurred on account of the bond. <br />3. The owner pays all cost of the issuance of the <br />new bond. <br />(b) Court Relief. In the event the council shall refuse <br />to issue a new bond or coupon, the provisions of <br />Sections 53462 through 53466 inclusive, of the <br />Government Code shall apply. <br />1217 Destruction of Paid Bonds and Coupons,. Upon the expiration <br />of one year from the date of posting to a bond register or <br />record the payment of any bond or coupon, the treasurer may <br />cause such bond or coupon to be cremated or otherwise destroyed. <br />1218 Issuance and Sale. The council shall provide for the <br />issuance and sale of any bonds by resolution or ordinance to <br />take effect upon adoption. <br />41 <br />
