Sharlene Gerald stated she is a Redwood City resident, library user and tutor <br />with Project Read. She stated that she is also in support of keeping the library <br />programs together. <br />Council Members made various comments citing the difficulties in making <br />budget cuts and expressing pride in the work the City employees have <br />provided during this time of budget difficulty. <br />III. Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) <br />Senior Civil Engineer Chang explained the various projects with a PowerPoint <br />presentation. He stated that there are two major projects coming up which are <br />the Downtown area improvements and the Ralston Interchange project. <br />Chang explained the GID 1 -64 topic. <br />City Manager Everett stated that the budget ordinance would be scheduled for <br />introduction at the August 11 Council meeting. <br />Vice Mayor Ira left the dais due to a conflict of interest with a client owning <br />property adjacent to the retail /cinema project area. <br />V. Review of Redevelopment Agency Budget for 2003 -2004 <br />Redevelopment Manager Moeller explained the Redevelopment Agency <br />budget as presented in the staff report. <br />Various questions were asked by Council Members. <br />MIS Howard /Howard to adjourn the Redevelopment Agency meeting. The motion <br />passed by a unanimous voice vote. <br />11. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 26 -2003. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department.) <br />12. ADJOURNMENT — 11:05 p.m <br />M/S to adjourn until the next Special City Council meeting of July 21, 2003 in memory <br />of Financial Services Account Clerk Barbara Greene.
