EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF WORK Provide preconstruction, architectural and engineering design and related services for constructing a two level underground parking facility to accommodate approximately 590 spaces to be located within the parcel surrounded by Jefferson Avenue, Broadway and Middlefield Road (known as Block 1). The design shall be in accordance with City of Redwood City Engineering Design Standards Volumes I, II and III dated January 5, 1998; the latest edition of the Uniform Building Code and in general conformance with standard design practice for public parking facilities. The preconstruction services, architectural and engineering design and related services shall include but not limited to: · Site investigation and field review, including but not limited to environmental, geotechnical and other appropriate engineering studies · Preparing complete construction documents, including plans specifications and construction contracts, for review and approval by the City and Agency · Prepare, submit and secure all permits required for construction of the Public Parking Facility and related improvements · Obtain all required subdivision approvals · Construction cost estimating and budgeting for the Public Parking Facility and related improvements, including presentation to the City and Agency of written updates at the completion of Design Development documents and at 50% and 90% Construction Documents. · Promptly advise the City and Agency of issues that may affect the Project Schedule or the budget. · Development and recommendation of design alternatives, including but not limited to value engineering proposals, for review and approval by the City and Agency · Attend Project meetings as requested by City and/or Agency staff · Review the Project Schedule with City and Agency and provide updated information as requested · Participate in design review meetings, including any required public meetings F:Atty/Agr/Agr. 119 052003 1 5
