With asset protection in mind, more and more cities are using CP to ensure that their steel
assets are being protected from corrosion. The first step to certifying the effectiveness of the current CP
system is to perform an assessment survey. This assessment survey will be conducted as stated in the
following proposal and the same work scope as the last annual survey conducted in 2004 by Corrpro.
Background Information
As per the details of our conversation, it is my understanding that the City of Redwood City has 65 zinc
anode test stations, varying in age from a couple years to over 20 years old. The zinc anodes were
installed in order to protect metallic fittings on various sized ACP or PVC pipe throughout various
pump stations in the City. The City wishes to understand the current status of their cathodic protection
and receive the recommendations for what needs to be done to ensure the continued protection on the
subject fittings. This survey will give you a complete understanding of the current status for the CP
system.
Services Provided BY Corrnro
Corrpro will provide the following services necessary to complete the project requirements.
1. Provide traffic control for all fittings located on the streets (Approximately 30%).
2. Visually inspect test leads and termination panels at cathodic protection test stations.
3. Measure pipe -to -soil potentials at test stations.
4. Measure anode current outputs and EMF.
5. Prepare a letter report to include a description of test procedures used, tabulation and analysis of
the test data, conclusions regarding the condition and effectiveness of the cathodic protection
systems, and recommendations for repairs, if required.
The assessment survey can be performed for a fee not -to- exceed $5,200.00 on T&M basis.
CORRPRO #57- 001757 Redwood City annual survey 2011.doc Page 2 of 2
