Brophy and Irving Gold and Alyn Beals of the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING, PACIFIC GAS AND ELECLRIC COMPANY APPEAL TO PLANNING COMMISSION DENIAL <br /> OF USE PERMIT 10EKECT AND OPERATE SUB- STATION AT 1715 VALOTA ROAD. Affidavit of <br /> publication was ordered filed. Mr. Domenico Raso, 1640 Kentfield Avenue, and Mr. <br /> D. J. Scopel, 162 Kentfield Avenue, protested the erecting of the sub - station at <br /> the badiof their property. This was followed by a discussion regarding the dis- <br /> tances from the surrounding property and of the future street in b ack of the pro- <br /> posed sub-station <br /> Mr. J. S. Kay, PG&E representative, stated the position of his company and the <br /> r/ <br /> "/ need for the sub - station somewhere in the area. He explained that the PG &E <br /> would build a 7' fence, with 3 strands of barbed wire at the top, around the <br /> entire station, this fence to be replaced with either a brick or wood fence when <br /> the adjacent property is developed. Phis was followed by general discussion on <br /> the fence now and the contemplated change. <br /> The IG &E have gone on record that they would donate the 27' required for the pro- <br /> posed street and also for proposed widening of Valota Road. Mr. Kay stated that <br /> the sub - station should not interfere with TV and radio reception. Mr. John J. <br /> Butler, 1670 Kentfield Avenue, protested and stated that the station should be <br /> built in a commercial zone. Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing <br /> be closed, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. Councilman Spillers <br /> moved that the Use Permit be granted subject to the deeding of 27' on both sides <br /> of the property, landscaping of the property, proper fencing which will be <br /> changed when the surrounding property requires such, and the immediate planting <br /> of trees at the back of the property. This motion was seconded by Councilman Jones. <br /> This was followed by a discussion regarding whether or not the PG &E should sign <br /> an agreement with the City. City Attorney Currie stated that the motion was <br /> such that no agreement would be needed. Motion carried on roll call. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON COST OF SAN FRANCISCO PROPERTY AT HAWES PARK. City Attorney <br /> Currie stated that he still had not been able to secure the figures that the City <br /> of San Francisco was asking for their small piece of property, however, he had <br /> been promised that the figure would be available some time this week. Councilman <br /> Spillers moved that this be carried on the agenda for one week, seconded by Council- <br /> man Britschgi and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER REPORT ON MINING OPERATIONS, STULSAFT PARK. Councilman Granger <br /> stated that he had nothing further to report other than what had been printed in <br /> the Tribune. The :Committee did receive financial statements from three of the <br /> bidders, Piggott and Dinely, Indian Monument Uranium Mining Corporation and Cddstad <br /> Homes. He stated further that the Committee was going to have a meeting with Mr. <br /> Oddstad in an effort to determine the extent of the ore, as it now developes the <br /> ore might not be as proficient as first believed. <br /> Councilman Granger stated that as the situation now stands if there is anyone <br /> willing to offer a better bid and at the same time put up a bond to substantiate <br />
