1 c <br /> �3 <br /> Councilman Granger stated that this letter and money would have no bearing on the <br /> letting of the bids in the future. Councilman Stout moved that the letter be held in <br /> abeyance and a letter be sent to these people telling them of the Council's decision. <br /> This was followed by general discussion regarding surveying after which Councilman <br /> Granger stated that the survey will be completed by next Wednesday and asked that this <br /> be carried on the agenda for one week. Councilman Stout amended his motion to include <br /> that this be carried on the agenda for one week, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> Councilman Granger moved that the prospecting permit of Piggott and Dinely and the Bond <br /> be terminated immediately and the bond returned, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> The fact was brought out that Mr. Oddstad would extend his bid to the end of the month. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT REGARDING COST OF SAN FRANCISCO PROPERTY IN HAWES PARK. City Attorney <br /> stated that the figure still was not available. He had talked to Mr. Cutting who <br /> promised that the price will be available within thenext 7 to 10 days. Mr. Currie also <br /> stated that he had talked to ;1Mr. Davis and they had given the School permission to use <br /> the property. Councilman Royer moved this matter be carried onthe agenda for two weeks, <br /> seconded by Councilman Granger. This was followed by discussion after which Council- <br /> man Royer withdrew his motion. Councilman Granger then moved that the City Manager be <br /> directed to sign the agreement, seconded by councilman Stout and carried. <br /> SPORZSMEN'S CLUB PETITION FOR SMALL BOAT RAMP AT YACHT HARBOR. The Redwood City.Sportsment's <br /> Club, Inc., has solicited signatures of small boat owners and other sportsmen of <br /> Redwood City who feel that Redwood City Yacht Harbor should have a suitable small boat <br /> ramp that boat owners could launch their boats anytime regardless of the time of the tide. <br /> They feel that the present location is very unsatisfactory because of the steepness of <br /> the bank and mud runway and no water at low tide. <br /> Letters were also received from Montgomery Ward Company, Western Auto Supply Company <br /> and Cecil's Little Shop urging the City to consider building the small boat ramp soon. <br /> There was general discussion following the reading of the letters. Mr. Leahy spoke on <br /> behalf of the Sportsmen's Club and he stated that the Port had given permission to use <br /> their property. The Clerk read from the Port minutes of July 25th the following: <br /> In line with understanding at the meeting of the Board on July 11, Mr. Leahy representing <br /> the Sportsmen's Club of Redwood City showed the members of the Board a sketch of the <br /> proposed rap which his organization desires to install or have installed without expense <br /> to the Port on port property in the vicinity of Clark's Boat Works near the south end of <br /> the port area, and made further explanation of what was desired. Following discussion, <br /> Commissioner DePatta moved that the Board grant permission to the Sportsmen's Club of <br /> Redwood City to construct or arrange with the Redwood City Council or others for the <br /> construction, at no expense to the Port of Redwood City and at a locationadjacent to the <br /> existing fence between the small building being used by the Sea Schouts and Clark's <br /> Boat Works, of a ramp to facilitate the movement of small pleasure boats between land <br /> conveyances and the waterway of Redwood City City Harbor, provided such action of the <br /> Board does not conflict with the plans of the Redwood City Yacht Harbor Committee and <br /> with the understanding that permission for the continued use of the ramp at its designated <br /> location is revocable at the pleasure of the Board. The motion was seconded by <br /> Secretary Harman and carried. <br /> This report was follwed by discussion in regard to the cost of building the ramp. <br /> Councilman Granger moved that the City Manager take the necessary steps to obtain b ids <br />
