• • <br /> Section 5. <br /> The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed as such <br /> officer, to execute each of the bonds on behalf of the District, <br /> and the Clerk or one or more of his deputies is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to countersign each of the bonds and to affix the <br /> official seal of the City thereto. The Mayor is hereby author- <br /> ized to cause said bonds to be signed by his printed, lithographed <br /> or engraved facsimile signatures. The Clerk is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to sign each of the interest coupons by printed, <br /> lithographed or engraved facsimile signature. Such signing, counter- <br /> signing and sealing as herein provided shall be a sufficient and <br /> binding execution of the bonds and coupons by the District, and <br /> all such signatures and countersignatures, excepting that of the <br /> Clerk or his deputies on the bonds, may be printed, lithographed or <br /> engraved. In case any of the officers whose signatures or counter- <br /> signatures appear on the bonds or coupons shall cease to be such <br /> officer before the delivery of the bonds to the purchaser, such <br /> signature or countersignature shall nevertheless be valid and <br /> sufficient for all purposes the same as though they had remained <br /> in office until the delivery of the bonds. The seal of the City <br /> may be printed, engraved, stamped or otherwise placed in facsimile <br /> on the bonds. <br /> Section 6. <br /> The Council will keep at the office of the Treasurer <br /> at all times when any of the bonds shall be outstanding and un- <br /> paid, books for the registration and transfer of the bonds. The <br /> owner of any bond may present the bond at such office to the <br /> Treasurer and request the registration of such bond as to prin- <br /> cipal and interest. The Treasurer shall cut off and cancel the <br /> coupons attached to such bond and shall cause to be endorsed <br /> upon the back of such bond so presented a statement to the effect <br /> that the bond is registered in the name of the owner and that <br /> thereafter the principal of and interest on the bond are payable <br /> -10- <br />
