i <br /> Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized and <br /> directed as such officer, to execute each of the bonds on <br /> behalf of the District, and the Clerk or one or more of his <br /> deputies is hereby authorized and directed to countersign <br /> each of the bonds and to affix the official seal of the City <br /> thereto. The Mayor is hereby authorized to cause said bonds <br /> to be signed by his printed, lithographed or engraved facsimile <br /> signatures. The Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> sign each of the interest coupons by printed, lithographed <br /> or engraved facsimile signature. Such signing, countersigning <br /> and sealing as herein provided shall be a sufficient and <br /> binding execution of the bonds and coupons by the District, and <br /> all such signatures and countersignatures, excepting that of the <br /> Clerk or his deputies on the bonds, may be printed, lithographed <br /> or engraved. In case any of the officers whose signatures or <br /> countersignatures appear on the bonds or coupons shall cease <br /> to be such officer before the delivery of the bonds to the <br /> purchaser, such signature or countersignature shall neverthe- <br /> less be valid and sufficient for all purposes the same as <br /> though they had remained in office until the delivery of the <br /> bonds. The seal of the City may be printed, engraved, 'stamped <br /> or otherwise placed in facsimile on the bonds. <br /> Section 6. The Council will keep at the office of <br /> the Treasurer at all times when any of the bonds shall be <br /> outstanding and unpaid, books for the registration and trans- <br /> fer of the bonds. The owner of any bond may present the bond <br /> at such office to the Treasurer and request the registration <br /> of such bond as to principal and interest. The Treasurer <br /> shall cut off and cancel the coupons attached to such bond <br /> and shall cause to be endorsed upon the back of such bond so <br /> 10 <br />
