•
MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -017
o. Page J -1 Noise Element. There is nothing we can do about arterial or
freeway noise but we can and should include a statement of positive
action stating, "The noise levels from the San Carlos Airport are of
serious concern and the Redwood City Council will take all appropriate
steps to deal with the abatement of that noise."
CONSENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be consensus of the Council
to direct the Planning Director to make the subject change.
p. Page J -3, add N -7 to request San Mateo County to conduct a study to see
if the noise from the San Carlos Airport could be alleviated and to work
with the County to change the circling patterns now being used which has
planes circling over residential areas in Redwood Shores.
M /S: Murray/ to include in our noise policy, encouraging the County
to conduct a study to determine whether a different circling pattern
would reduce noise.
Motion died for lack of a second.
City Attorney Schricker advised that the last paragraph of the proposed
resolution is to be deleted as the issue of building heights, to the extent
that it is germane to the General Plan, should be included in the text of
the General Plan and not in the resolution.
Title read: M /S: Murray /Buchan
RESOLUTION NO. 11209 APPROVING AND ADOPTING REVISED GENERAL PLAN
Adopted by unanimous roll call vote.
Arlyn C. Jorgenson
City Clerk
