In exchange, the District provides
its Emergency Medical Services Battalion Chief to coordinate EMS services for
Redwood City. In order to efficiently staff each organization, the City, District, and Fire
JPA, share the services of these personnel referred to as the "Joint Training Officer"
and "Joint EMS Officer." The agreement between the City and the District amounts an even exchange
of the services of Redwood City's Training Officer and District's EMS Officer.
ALTERNATIVES
Reject the two proposed Joint Training Services Agreement with the Belmont-San
Carlos Fire Department and Woodside Fire Protection District and provide alternative
direction through the City Manager.
FISCAL IMPACT
Fire Department revenue will be increased by $74,000, the amount received annually
from Fire JPA for the shared service of Redwood City's Training Battalion Chief.
