She said the five recommendations with go to the City Council. <br />Mr. Passanisi said he will inform the Commission of the Council date. <br />Commissioner Garcia asked for background on the childcare issue. <br />Mr. Passanisi referred to the memo from the Attorney that said the record indicated that <br />City Council had approved the non - discretionary provisions. <br />Commissioner Garcia had questions about the policy options available. <br />Commissioner Radcliffe also expressed interest in the kinds of conditions that could be <br />attached. <br />MATTERS OF COMMISSION INTEREST <br />Bayfront Study update. Mr. Passanisi wanted to let the Commission know that the <br />staff is near completing the Bayfront Study, at the end of May. He said it will be an <br />important document which will help them review and consider some of the upcoming <br />projects in the Bayfront area such as Marina Shores and the Syufy Project. <br />Historical Pattern Presentation. Mr. Passanisi said there was going to be a discussion <br />on the Historical Pattern Presentation that Commissioner Paulson asked for; Charles <br />Jany agreed to do it at a future Planning Commission meeting, and he said they will <br />schedule that as requested. <br />Joint Study Session on Cinema/Retail Project. Mr. Passanisi wanted to remind the <br />Commission that there is a Joint Study Session with the City Council on the Cinema <br />Retail Project on May 19, 2003. <br />Commissioner Piulle said she and two other Commissioners went to the meeting at Mt. <br />Alverno. She said it was very informative, and it is interesting to hear the background of <br />how and whom they might accept as the buyer of the property. <br />Comissioner Piulle also wanted to bring up that the City Council meeting was very <br />interesting regarding the Woodside Widening project. She said the project is slower <br />than molasses, but there were many interesting things that came up. She was <br />wondering if the Planning Commission is somehow involved in this, or is this strictly still <br />in the stage that nobody is involved? <br />Page 25 of 26 <br />
