We are now entering the final year of federal funding with a rollover
amount of $328,313. We will be applying for new federal funding for this program in April,
2004.
In addition to Federal 21S Century Funding the City of Redwood City has leveraged state
and private resources to augment services provided students and their families. Services
include after school tutoring, recreation and enrichment programming, life skills education,
and family education opportunities. Programs have been well received and program
results have demonstrated improved academic achievement for students.
Each year, an agreement is made between the City and the School District for this
program. The agreement details the scope of work that the City will provide at the After -
School Program sites, and that the Redwood City School District will reimburse the City
from the 21S Century Funds it receives.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for the program has been granted by the Federal 21 Century Program.
Alternative
i to enter into this agreement.
