q: A 5q <br />GENER U INFORMATION CONCERNING riE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />The City of Redwood City (the "City") is located in the Bay Area 25 miles south of San <br />Francisco. It is the oldest bayside city in San Mateo County (the "County"), incorporated in <br />1867, and has been the County Seat since 1856. The City combines residential, industrial, and <br />commercial elements In a largely urban environment Its waterfront provides a yacht harbor and <br />the only deep -water port in the South Bay. A wide variety of housing types are available. <br />Services and trade, the County's two largest industry divisions, are expected to provide close to <br />two- thirds of anticipated growth in the next two years. <br />Municipal Government <br />, The City Council consists of seven members, elected by the voters of the City to <br />staggered terms of four years each. <br />The City Council is the only body elected directly by the residents of Redwood City. As <br />the legislative branch of the government, it makes final decisions on all major city matters. The <br />Council adopts ordinances and resolutions necessary for efficient governmental operations, <br />approves the budget, and acts as a board of appeals.
