7.13 <br /> <br />Vacations <br /> <br />7.13.1 Only regular full-time employees who have worked for the City more than <br /> twelve (12) months shall be entitled to take vacation leave. <br /> <br />The times during the calendar year at which an employee shall take <br />vacation shall be determined by the Police Chief or designated <br />representative with due regard to the wishes of the employee and <br />particular regard to the need of the service. All employees shall, on a form <br />provided by the City, indicate their preference for vacation periods during <br />November and December of each calendar year. Preference of vacation <br />date shall be given to employees according to their length of service in as <br />reasonable a manner as possible. The Department will post a final <br />vacation schedule by January 1 of each year. <br /> <br />7.13.2 Full-time employees shall be entitled to annual vacation leave as follows: <br /> <br />Upon completion of the initial twelve (12) months period of employment, <br />full-time employees shall be credited with ten (10) days of vacation leave. <br />Thereafter, the first through the fourth calendar year of service, ten (10) <br />days of vacation, the fifth through the fourteenth calendar year of service, <br />fifteen (I 5) days of vacation, the fifteenth and subsequent calendar years <br />of service, twenty (20) days of vacation. <br /> <br />7.13.3 <br /> <br />Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued <br />vacation leave computer to the 31 st of December, except upon written <br />authorization of the Personnel Officer. <br /> <br />7.13.4 <br /> <br />In the event an employee is reinstated, prior service shall be included in <br />determining the applicable rate of accrual of vacation leave. Upon <br />termination of employment a regular employee shall be paid cash value of <br />his/her accrued vacation leave at the time of temdnation, in accordance <br />with the above schedule. Vacation leave shall not be credited to any <br />employee whose employment is terminated prior to certification as a <br />regular employee. <br /> <br />7.13.5 Vacation leave shall be not be granted during first twelve (12) months of <br /> the original probationary period. <br /> <br />7.14 Illness Durine Vacation <br /> <br />7.14.1 An employee who commences a scheduled vacation period and <br /> subsequently becomes ill before his or her vacation period has been <br /> completed shall be placed on illness leave under the following conditions: <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br /> <br />
