SECTION 10. HEALTH PLANS <br />10.1 Health and Cafeteria Plans <br /> <br />10.1.1 <br /> <br />The City agrees to contract with the California Public Employee's <br />Retirement System (PERS) for participation under the Public Employees <br />Medical and Hospital Care Act (Government Code Section 22751, et, <br />seq.), pursuant specifically to Government Code Section 22825 and <br />22850. <br /> <br />10.1.2 <br /> <br />For the period September 1, 1998 through August 31, 2001, the City's <br />maximum contribution for each active employee for a Health Benefit <br />Plan (as referenced in Government Code 22825) shall not exceed sixteen <br />dollars ($16.00) per month. <br /> <br />10.1.3 The health plans offered shall be those of the California Public <br /> Employee's Retirement System (PERS). <br /> <br />10.1.4 <br /> <br />For PSA members employed by the City, who have twenty (20) years of <br />service and retire under the City's retirement, the maximum City <br />contribution toward health plan coverage shall be equal to the percent of <br />premium paid for an active employee, for the same plan, for the period <br />September 1, 1998 through August 31, 2001. <br /> <br />10.1.5 <br /> <br />In the event there are any costs not charged to the City due to delays by <br />PERS and/or other administrative agencies in calculating or reporting <br />these costs, said costs shall be carried over and charged as administrative <br />costs to the following plan year and deducted from the aforementioned <br />monthly dollar caps accordingly. <br /> <br />10.1.6 <br /> <br />For PSA members not eligible for medical benefits under Section <br />10.1.4 and who are receiving a disability retirement due to a work <br />related illness or injury, the maximum City contribution toward health <br />plan coverage for employee only (family coverage not included) shall be <br />equal to the percent of premium paid for an active employee and based <br />on his/her enrollment at the time of his/her disability retirement. Said <br />employee shall be eligible for this benefit provided he/she is not eligible <br />for similar benefits under another plan (for example, if retiree has <br />coverage available under another job, or a spouse's plan). <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br /> <br />
