08/27/01 <br />RESOLUTION NO L1 -4363 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND <br />AGREEMENT WITH WOMEN'S <br />SECURITY (WAGES) <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />ACTION TO GAIN ECONOMIC <br />WHEREAS, Women's Action to Gain Economic Security (WAGES) is a private, <br />non - profit organization that provides support and assistance to low- income women as <br />they form and develop their own business cooperatives, which services are in <br />furtherance of the public health, welfare and benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, Women's Action to Gain Economic Security (WAGES) has <br />requested financial assistance for use by it in conducting its activities during the fiscal <br />year commencing July 1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />enter into an agreement with Women's Action to Gain Economic Security (WAGES) to <br />provide financial assistance in furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and Women's <br />Action to Gain Economic Security (WAGES), a copy of which agreement is on file in the <br />office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br />thereof, is hereby approved and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized <br />and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />Reso -0126 <br />F: /S ha red /Redwood /Cou nci I <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
