I encourage all clients to feel free to promptly raise any questions or concerns about my statements, billings, retainers or trust account deposits, or any other matter of concern, and to deal with the issues in a candid and professional manner. I bill monthly; all bills not questioned within 30 calendar days of receipt are deemed accepted. If the City decides to request my assistance in matters other than the initial assignment, a new engagement letter will be not be required, unless requested by the City. If not requested, the terms of this letter agreement will be deemed to apply to all such additional legal matters as the City assigns to me, at the rate of $185 per hour, or at such project fee as we may negotiate. I cannot continue to provide legal services to clients who do not pay their statements in a timely manner. Accordingly, I reserve the right to withdraw as counsel in any matter for which my statements are not promptly paid. When countersigned by an authorized agent of the City, this letter will constitute an agreement between myself and the City, including acceptance of my right to withdraw from any matter for which my statements are not promptly paid, and my right to withdraw from representation at any time, in my opinion, it will be unwise or impractical for me to proceed. Of course the City remains free to discontinue use of my services at any time; however, all outstanding balances due at such time still must be paid in a timely manner. If this letter does not accurately state the terms of our agreement, kindly contact me as soon as possible, so any misunderstandings can be quickly cleared up. Any corrections or changes to this letter agreement must be in writing and signed both by myself and an authorized representative of the City. If this letter is acceptable to the City, kindly have it countersigned and returned to me at the address listed on the letterhead.
