March 27, 2003 <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />For each assignment, City and Consultant shall agree in advance on a reasonable level of <br />effort--with an estimated number of hours, and a schedule for deliverables. Assignments <br />may include the following tasks and additional assigmnents as needed: <br /> <br /> 1. Prepare a popular-level description of the Monterey (raw-eaten) food crop <br /> iiTigation project using recycled water. The description would serve as a <br /> benchmark for assessing the safety of disinfected tertiary recycled water for <br /> intimate exposure scenarios comparable to irrigation of residential <br /> landscaping--e.g., irrigation of open-leaf lettuce with sprinklers, with the <br /> produce subsequently packaged and marketed for fresh consumption. Results <br /> of food safety studies and their relevance to skin contact and incidental <br /> ingestion of recycled water will be described and illustrated. <br /> Estimated time: 16 hours <br /> <br /> 2. Prepare descriptions of applicable results of the Monterey studies on impacts <br /> of using recycled water on soils and plants to the Redwood City landscape <br /> irrigation scenario. <br /> Estimated Time: 16 hours <br /> <br /> 3. Prepare web-page material for addition to the City's recycled water public <br /> information. <br /> <br /> Estimated Time: 8 hours <br /> <br /> 4. Prepare and/or review additional written materials for the City's incorporation <br /> into staff reports and supporting documents related to the safety of recycled <br /> water. <br /> <br /> Estimated Time: Variable <br /> <br /> Additional tasks will not be initiated until a separate Notice To Proceed is received by <br /> mail, email or telephone call from the City for each individual task or a series of tasks. In <br /> each case, City and Consultant will establish a mutually satisfactory delivery schedule. <br /> <br /> COMPENSATION <br /> Consultant shall bill the City monthly at an hourly rate of $150.00 for actual work <br /> performed.
