EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />I. Purpose <br /> <br />Provide technical assistance to the City of Redwood City regarding possible health <br />effects associated with landscape irrigation with reclaimed water in urban areas. <br />Submitted materials will provide information to the City Council to aid in its policy <br />decisions on the use of reclaimed water. The materials provided to the City Cotmcil may <br />be used by the Council to inform and educate the public as needed. <br /> <br />II. Scope <br /> <br />The Scope of Services shall consist of the submission of four issue papers to the City addressing the safety <br />of- and potential health effects associated with - landscape irrigation of reclaimed water in urban areas. <br />Individual issue papers (anticipated to be 1-3 pages each) addressing the following subject areas will be <br />prepared: <br /> <br /> 1. Exposure to children <br /> 2. Endocrine disruptors and pharmaceuticals <br /> 3. Carcinogens <br /> 4. Relative risk from pathogens <br /> <br />Each issue paper will include the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Statement oftheissue <br /> 2. Summary of opposing view/public concern <br /> 3. Background documentation on current knowledge, industry experience, and regulatory controls <br /> - with attention given to the differences between drinking water and irrigation water <br /> 4. Findings <br /> 5. Conclusion <br /> <br />Draft issue papers will be prepared, reviewed by knowledgeable experts, and revised as necessary prior to <br />submission to the City. <br /> <br />III. Schedule <br /> <br />All issue papers will be submitted in final form to the City within 30 days of project startup.
