EXHIBIT A
METROPOLITAN PLANNING GROUP
a new design on urban planning G R O U P
MAY 10, 2011
Sailesh Mehra, Associate City Planner
City of Redwood City
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, CA 94064
RE: Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for 333 N. Main Street Project
Dear Sailesh,
Metropolitan Planning Group would like to thank you for providing us the opportunity to
submit a proposal to conduct the Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the
proposed 132 -unit residential project at 333 N. Main Street within the North Main Street
Precise Plan area.
M- Group's scope of work is to prepare the environmental documents for an Initial Study and
Mitigated Negative Declaration, as mandated by State Law as part of the Environmental
Review process. The Initial Study will identify the potential environmental impacts resulting
from the proposal. The Mitigated Negative Declaration will identify, if necessary, the potential
Mitigation Measures that will be required to reduce the potential impacts to a less than
significant level.
The development proposal appears to not encroach or impact the riparian area of the adjacent
Redwood Creek. As a result we do not anticipate a requirement for a permit from the Army Corp,
given the review to date of the entire scope of the project. If this changes based on additional
information or change in project scope, the city will be notified accordingly.
We will partner with Illingworth & Rodkin for the Noise study, and a technical report analyzing
Air Quality and Greenhouse Gas issues.
Metropolitan Planning Group (M- Group) has brought high - caliber planning services to many
Bay Area communities. Our mission is to bring innovative and effective planning solutions to
Bay Area cities. We are currently working with over 15 local cities and their communities on a
wide variety of projects. M -Group staff has comprehensive knowledge and technical expertise
in working in San Mateo County, environmental laws and regulations under CEQA and
applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss any changes
to our scope of work, fee or approach to the project.
579 clyde avenue suite 340 mountain view calif 94043 650 938 1111 www.mplanninggroup.com
