PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Building Code Ordinance. Recommendation: 1. Conduct as public hearing and second reading on adoption of the building codes ordinance. 2. Adopt the building codes ordinance with necessary local amendments and the resolution on local conditions with the Finding of Facts, and waive further reading of the full ordinance. ORDINANCE No. 2360 REPEALING ARTICLES IV, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AMENDING ARTICLES II AND IX; AND ADDING ARTICLES IV, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE, 2010 EDITION; THE CALIFORNIA RESIDENTIAL CODE, 2010 EDITION; THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, 2009 EDITION"; "THE CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE, 2010 EDITION"; "THE CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE, 2010 EDITION"; AND "THE CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE, 2010 EDITION" (First Reading/Introduction December 6, 2010; publication December 16, 2010) RESOLUTION No.15084 FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT, BECAUSE OF LOCAL CONDITIONS, THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, WELFARE, AND NECESSITY, REQUIRE THE AMENDING OF ARTICLES II AND IX; AND THE ADDITION OF ARTICLES IV, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTI NG BU I LDI NG CODES Mr. John La Torra, retired Building Inspector Manager, presented the staff report and noted that the ordinance was first introduced at the December 6, 2010 Council meeting, was published in its entirety twice, and he is only aware of having received positive responses to this. He said that the Board of Building Review recommends adoption of the ordinance and asked for Council approval of the proposed ordinance and resolution after the public hearing process. He also noted that they have a "companion" public hearing for the Fire Code and past practice has been to process them together. Mayor Ira opened the Public Hearing. There was no public comment. M/S Foust/Gee to close the Public Hearing. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. There was no Council discussion. M/S Foust/Aguirre to approve the ordinance and resolution.
