The time allocation <br /> and cost share for the first year of this contract will be as set forth in the chart below. Command and Operational Support <br /> Services will include the initial response of a qualified command officer (Battalion Chief or <br /> higher) to all incidents requiring response under the protocols used by Fire Departments located in <br /> San Mateo County. A command officer will be available 24/7 with a response travel time average not <br /> to exceed ten minutes absent unusual circumstances. In addition to response activities, the command <br /> officers will coordinate the daily staffing of the two fire stations located in San Carlos and supervise <br /> station personnel during emergency and daily routine activities. The command officer oversight will <br /> include any personnel issues including staff assignments, discipline, leave approval, etc. The <br /> command officer will coordinate and work with the City of San Carlos Human Resources Division as <br /> applicable. <br /> STAFF FTE SERVICE COST SAN CARLOS SHARE <br /> Battalion Chief 1.00 Command and Operations $792,750 $264,250 (1/3) <br /> TOTAL: $264,250 <br /> C. Truck Company Services <br /> Truck service is essential to emergency response and will be provided by Redwood City <br /> "Truck 9" out of Fire Station 9. Typical responsibilities of Truck Company personnel include <br /> conducting primary search, rescuing trapped victims, ventilation, forcible entry, laddering the fire <br /> building, checking for fire extension, accessing concealed spaces, providing ladder-pipe water <br /> application, providing above ground access, extricating victims from vehicle collisions with the Jaws <br /> of Life, performing complex rope and other technical rescue operations. Truck Company functions are <br /> essential to support suppression efforts of Engine Company personnel. Truck response is required for <br /> structure fires in the region. At the annual review this allocation model will be evaluated and modified <br /> as necessary pursuant to the terms of the Agreement. An analysis of the feasibility of an alternate <br /> method of providing Truck service (i.e. Quint) will be conducted at the end of year one and delivered <br /> to San Carlos for consideration and possible implementation. <br /> ATTY/AGR/2011.049/SAN CARLOS FIRE <br /> 061611 <br />
