08/27/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34358 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH REDWOOD CITY POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE <br />(PAL) <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL) is a private, non - profit <br />organization that provides a variety of services for "at risk" and disadvantaged youth in <br />Redwood City including academic tutoring, counseling, life skills training, recreational <br />activities and athletic programs, which services are in furtherance of the public health, <br />welfare and benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL) has requested <br />financial assistance for use by it in conducting its activities during the fiscal year <br />commencing July 1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires to <br />enter into an agreement with Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL) to provide <br />financial assistance in furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and Redwood <br />City Police Activities League (PAL), a copy of which agreement is on file in the office of <br />the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is <br />hereby approved and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />Reso -0121 <br />F /Shared /Redwood /Council <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
